Rationalizing
Have you seen the latest feature from Google Labs? Mail Goggles. I think Google should work on something similar for our blogs because I know, I know, I know I shouldn't write about certain things here.
But I want to. I really really really want to.

And phone goggles. I could use those too. Oy vey.
Just do it. Seriously, write whatever you want. I've been doing it for years with very few exceptions. It's cathartic, and you find out who your real friends are.
Unless what you want to say can get you fired if your co-workers know about your blog. Don't write that stuff. But anything else can be fair game.
That was (and is) one thing livejournal had going for it. Friends-lock was a beautiful thing. I didn't use it much when I was blogging, but I did go back a lock a bunch of stuff when I changed jobs. Of course, now I don't blog at all.
